CUC Goulburn’s new facilities: the perfect place for study!

CUC Goulburn is excited to announce that we are relocating to 91 Bourke St Goulburn. Open from July 24^th, the space has been architecturally designed with study and community in mind.

Our historic location with modern amenities

The move comes after two years of scouting and planning for larger, fit-for-purpose facilities for the growing community of students who use our Centre to access their studies. Having outgrown our old site, we’ve been fortunate to secure and refurbish the historic building alongside Roses Cafe and the Abbey Motel.

91 Bourke St is part of the complex of buildings that was once Saint Paul’s boy’s school. The renovations breathe new life into the two-storey building, in keeping with an educational history that dates back to the 1930s.

Designed for study and community

The new space has been architecturally designed with both study and community in mind. Our larger, multi-use facility includes a presentation space, a communal kitchen and dining area, and numerous quiet, private, and group study spaces. Registered students will have access to fast internet, printing facilities, computers, dual-screen monitors, and a range of free student services, including academic advice. Local students enrolled in a higher education course can register to benefit from these facilities.

Supporting regional students

CUC Goulburn works to remove many of the barriers that local students face, providing ‘wraparound’ support where and when it’s needed. We know that regional students face greater hurdles to a university education than their metropolitan peers.

Many of our students commute to Canberra or further afield to attend classes and need a ‘campus away from campus’ when they return home. Many of our students study online and need reliable internet, a secure place to sit their exams, and a quiet space away from the distractions of a busy home life. All of our students benefit from a community of peers, and the face-to-face support of our friendly staff!
